Calculate the duration between two times

Calculating the duration between two times can sometimes be tricky, especially when minutes and seconds differ between the two values. Below are the steps to find the difference (hours and minutes) between two times within the same day:

Identify the start time and end time. The goal is to subtract the start time from the end time correctly.
If the times are not already in 24-hour format, convert them:
- AM times remain the same.
- PM times require adding 12 to the hour.
Example: 1:00 PM → 13:00
Compare the minutes in both times:
a) If the ending time has MORE minutes:
- Subtract normally (end − start).
- Keep format as HH:MM (hours on left, minutes on right).

- Borrow 1 hour (add 60 minutes to ending time minutes).
- Subtract hours and minutes separately.
